[Energy Efficiency Success! Zuoying Armed Forces General Hospital Selected for the Ministry of Economic Affairs’ Energy Conservation Benchmark Award ]
We are achieving results in energy conservation and carbon reduction through concrete action!
Zuoying Armed Forces General Hospital has consistently advanced energy-saving improvements and smart energy management. Recent initiatives include replacing chillers with high-efficiency models, installing variable-frequency drives on power equipment, upgrading 5,061 light fixtures to LEDs, and implementing a Smart Energy Management System (EMS). Real-time monitoring and data analysis enable smarter, more precise energy management. Tangible results: Total electricity consumption dropped by 5.83% between 2023 and 2025, and Energy Use Intensity (EUI) fell from 332.97 to 313.55. In 2025 alone, electricity savings reached 553,830 kWh, cutting costs by approximately NT$2.29 million! The hospital has also achieved ISO 50001 (Energy Management System) and ISO 14064-1 (Greenhouse Gas Inventory) certifications, integrating energy conservation and carbon reduction into daily operations. Being selected for the Ministry of Economic Affairs’ Energy Conservation Benchmark Award is not only a recognition of our achievements but also a significant milestone in promoting sustainable healthcare. Moving forward, we remain committed to “Smart Healthcare × Low-Carbon Transition × Sustainable Hospital,” using concrete actions to set a benchmark for energy efficiency in military medicine and striving toward the 2050 Net-Zero goal!
