The Burn Intensive Care Center at the Zuoying Armed Forces General Hospital was established in 1988 and was one of the earliest dedicated burn centers in southern Taiwan. With decades of clinical experience, the hospital has developed a comprehensive system of burn care encompassing acute burn management, intensive care, advanced wound care, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, and rehabilitation, positioning itself as a major center for comprehensive burn and trauma care in southern Taiwan.
Building upon the unique strengths of a military medical institution, the hospital further integrates clinical medicine with Military Medicine, Hyperbaric Medicine, Diving Medicine, and Aerospace Medicine. This multidisciplinary framework encompasses combat casualty care, major trauma management, medicine in extreme and special environments, and medical resilience. From the critical care of severe burns and traumatic injuries to the physiological and medical challenges associated with hyperbaric, underwater, and aerospace environments, the hospital provides international students with a distinctive opportunity to explore the broad spectrum of military and environmental medicine.
In the field of Diving Medicine, the hospital is actively advancing the medical and physiological aspects of saturation diving. Through interdisciplinary collaboration with Academia Sinica, Taiwan’s premier national research institution, as well as leading public universities, the hospital promotes research in diving physiology, hyperbaric and environmental medicine, and translational biomedical sciences.

国際臨床見学・研修プログラム
熱傷医療 × 軍事医学 × 高気圧・潜水・航空宇宙医学
国軍左営総合病院の熱傷集中治療センターは1988年に設立され、台湾南部で最も早期に設立された専門的な熱傷センターの一つです。長年にわたる臨床経験を基盤として、急性期熱傷管理、集中治療、高度創傷管理、高気圧酸素療法、リハビリテーションなどを含む包括的な熱傷医療体制を構築しており、台湾南部における総合的な熱傷・外傷医療の主要施設としての役割を担っています。
軍事医療機関としての特色を生かし、本院では臨床医学に加えて、軍事医学、高気圧医学、潜水医学、航空宇宙医学を融合した医療・教育体制を構築しています。
この学際的な枠組みには、戦傷・戦闘外傷に対する医療、重症外傷管理、極限・特殊環境下における医学、ならびに医療レジリエンスなどが含まれます。
重症熱傷や外傷患者に対する集中治療から、高気圧・水中・航空宇宙環境における生理学的・医学的課題まで、本院では国際的な研修生に対し、軍事医学および環境医学の幅広い分野を学ぶことができる特色ある研修機会を提供しています。
潜水医学の分野では、本院は飽和潜水に関する医学的・生理学的研究および発展に積極的に取り組んでいます。
台湾を代表する国立研究機関である中央研究院（Academia Sinica）をはじめ、国内の主要な公立大学と学際的に連携し、潜水生理学、高気圧・環境医学、トランスレーショナル・バイオメディカルサイエンスなどの研究を推進しています。
